John Wick Director Teases Anime & TV Series – Exciting News!

The world of John Wick just keeps getting bigger.

In a recent episode of The Playlist’s The Discourse podcast, Chad Stahelski, the long-time director of John Wick, shared exciting plans for the franchise. Stahelski and Lionsgate are gearing up for a new TV show and an anime. The TV series might delve into The High Table, exploring the mysterious world of Wick’s assassin culture. Interestingly, it will stand independently from Peacock’s The Continental: From the World of John Wick miniseries. This miniseries focuses on Winston Scott’s journey to becoming the manager of the iconic New York hotel. Stahelski’s revelations promise a fresh perspective and further expansion of the beloved John Wick universe.

Instead of Wick or Winston, Stahelski teased that the possibility of exploring other characters that were introduced in John Wick: Chapter 4 “Yeah, I love Donnie [Yen], I love Rina [Sawayama], love the Tracker (Shamier Anderson), and the TV show and the ancillaries will give us a chance to expand the kind of fun world we’ve created,” he stated, adding, “I think TV is a better format for that, I think because people can jump into the backgrounds, you don’t have to spend so much time with the first act set up and all that.” .As for the anime series, he stated the benefits of showing Wick’s world through this medium, noting, “to create all the cool stories that anime could achieve better than we could and the TV show to expand our world, we’ll still get our fix, you know what I mean? And we’ll still have all the fun.”
